Title: If There's No One There, Then There's No One There
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance...via pillow notes. (Post-Wilson's Heart)
Word Count: 100
Author's Note: While the writing itself is completely different, I did steal this concept from a recent story I turned in for my Creative Writing class. My bad. : / The title comes from Star's "In Our Bedroom After The War." Lol, I highly doubt this works, so I made it a drabble.
Sorry I’m not here. Went to pick up House.

Dear Amber,
Your note is still under my pillow.
Wilson
Dear Amber,
I hate you almost as much as I hate him.
Wilson
Dear Amber,
If you were here I wouldn’t have to write these goddamn notes.
Wilson
Dear Amber,
The bed is unmade. So is everything else, and nobody fights me for the blanket at night.
Wilson
P.S. I’m scared I’ll forget the sound of your laugh.
Dear Amber,
I took your note out from under my pillow.
Wilson
Dear Amber,
I’m replacing it with this one. Thank you.

The bed is unmade. So is everything else
Really powerful image.

Date: 2009-03-01 07:46 pm (UTC)I dunno, I kinda like reading sad things when I'm having a shitty day. Guess I'm weird like that. I very rarely write flat-out angsty stuff when I'm happy though.

Date: 2009-03-16 03:43 am (UTC)Except this is not funny or annoying. Very un-both of those.
I'm putting it in my memories.

Date: 2009-03-25 03:13 am (UTC)I'm a huge fan of your writing, btw. I'm going to take some time this summer and read it all. I can't wait, haha.

There's just been so much writing going on for me and so much trying to survive and so much gah-I-am-too-brain-dead-to-tackle-things.
Thanks for the compliment. It feels really weird that I have ... fans. *blinks* I mean ... I -- oh, never mind. I'll hush now before I say something foolish, but in any event, you just really made me smile.
I really ought to log back in as myself, since your replies to this? Will go to Perspi because that's how the Ciggie account is set up. Not that I mind who sees the conversation. I'm just doing some editing to our work-in-progress posts tonight and it's a pain to log in and out all the time.

Date: 2009-03-25 03:46 am (UTC)Friend away. I'm fairly boring, you know. :-) Lots of blather about art, horses, and trying to survive financially. Lots of silly stuff too.
Definitely, definitely I recommend friending the Collective journal. We update pretty rarely because the Distress Call 'verse is so huge that, while we're writing in it almost constantly, weaving it all together takes a lot of time. So if you want to catch new chapters, the easiest way is to friend the LJ and put it on your alerts list.

Date: 2009-03-25 04:04 am (UTC)Gosh, you want to talk about stuff one regrets missing: I JUST, yes, just read your ficlet "Relief" from two years ago on my tiny cell phone screen in class today. I busted out laughing at the last paragraph. People looked at me like I was deranged. So thank you, but curse you as well.
